The Three Sisters of planting method is a method of planting corn, beans, and squash as they nurture one another. They are ecologically complimentary plants. The broad leaves of the squash provide shade to the soil ensuring moisture levels and stopping the growth of weeds while the rough edges deter pests.

Begin planting in early spring about 1 or 2 weeks past the last frost date. Plant corn first and when the young corn plant comes up remove any weeds. When the corn is about 6 inches high beans and squash can be planted around the corn. Water this once a week.

Avoid planting different types of beans to avoid cross pollination. Use ONLY ONE KIND!!!!!!!
