Bell peppers have several health benefits which include improved eye health, immune health, decreased inflammation, and include vitamins such as vitamin B6, vitamin K, potassium, vitamin E, and folates.

Typical PH level of the soil to grow bell peppers is 6.5-7. PH level directly influences the availability of nutrients to the plant.

Cold tolerance for bell peppers to grow are around 55 degrees F. Cold tolerance is important because it determines the plants ability to survive and flourish in cold temperstures.

Nutrients to use for better plant production: Nitrogen, Phosphate, and Potassium. Usually a 5-10-10 fertilizer is sufficient. Egg shells are a great nitrogen booster!!

Transplant seedlings 2 to 3 weeks after final frost and soil is about 65 degrees F. Plant them about 18 inches apart. Mix compost into the soil when planting and water immediately. They need about 1-2 inches of water a week. They need 6-8 hours of sunlight a day.

DO NOT PLANT NEAR BELL PEPPERS: Kale, Broccoli, Cabbage, or Fennel.

Companion Plants: Basil, Carrots, Dill, Marigolds, Oregano, Tomatoes, Chives, Garlic, Parsley, Spinach, Onions, and Cilantro.
