Cold tolerance for garlic is -30 degrees F as it can grow easily in cold climates underground. Cold tolerance is important because it determines the plants ability to survive and thrive in cold temperatures.
Nutrients to use for better plant production: Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Blood Meal, and compost.
Garlic is planted using bulbs so there is a process that needs to be done to treat it before planting. First, soak the cloves for 15 minutes. Then drain and cover them in rubbing alcohol for 3-5 minutes so the alcohol penetrates the clove and kills any mites inside the plant immediatly. Then they can be planted into the soil.
Garlic likes full sun!! Garlic also only needs 1/2 to 1 inch of water a week as too much water will cause bulb rot. Make sure to water deeply and slowly.
